Full Personality:

I'm the type that tries to go with the flow. I'm not a follower per se, but I do just kind of go along with whatever my friends want to do, just because I can also be a little boring. Usually, they have better ideas than I do when it comes to fun things. I'm more about studying to get done with school. I'm not sure how I got selected as headboy this year, but I'll do what I can to get my senior year done with.

History:

Derek comes from a family of old money and many generations that had attended the same school he is attending now. The Salvatores are a power family back where he is from; The United States, or more pointedly the state of Virginia, his family being one of the first settlers there straight off of the Mayflower.

He grew up in a fairly strict household, where his parents rarely cared for him and his Nanny did most of the raising (he saw this as a blessing later on in life when he saw how his parents were). His Father was a conceited old man whom cared nothing for him or his younger sister, and his Mother a vain bitch who’s sole purpose had been to constantly tell he and his sibling that they were not good enough. His Father owns many of the large banks throughout the state, whilst his Mother is a retired Italian supermodel.

Now that both he and his sister are away from his parents he lives a much freer life. A carefree life compared to that of before. Due to his Nanny raising both he and his sister, he has turned into a much better person than he is sure he would’ve been if he had been raised by his parents.

This last summer, the Mathesons found out what had been happening to his sister and took custody of the two of them. Now that he also found out about it after the custody battle, he can not wait to leave for good after graduation and cut his parents completely out of his life as he takes care of his sister at the same time.
