I used to be the center of the party. Queen bee and all that. Not one of those mean ones like you see in the movies though. I was friends with everyone.  I grew up  with most of them and they were like family.

History:

My name is Merritt Lane Devin.  Just a normal teenage girl.  Born and raised in Kentucky in a little backwoods town.  I come from old money and new money.  I was a cheerleader at my old school, and I played basketball.  I had everything going for me...the perfect boyfriend, the perfect life. Then all hell broke loose this summer. 

A new boy had shown up at the end of my sophomore year.  I never thought much about it till a week or two into the summer, and he started to show up everywhere I was.  I finally told my boyfriend Clay about it, and he and his friends warned him to back off.  Things went back to normal for a couple of weeks.  I was out with Clay one night and some of our other friends.  This new boy showed up and before I knew what happened Clay was on the ground having been stabbed.  The boy then grabbed me and tried to drag me away, but Clays friends stopped him, and he took off running. 

Luckily no vital organs had been hit when Clay was stabbed.  He was back up and about in no time it seemed.  My bodyguard was back on me twenty-four seven though and I hated that.  Clay and I have been together since freshman year.  Our parents were best friends so we had grown up together. The new boy tried to attack Clay a couple of more times though in the next few weeks. I broke up with Clay to protect him.  We were both devastated about it, but we both decided we made better best friends.

After that the attacks came at me.  Our house had been broken into a few times when we weren't home.  My car had been keyed and other little things.  I woke up one night and saw him staring in my window.  I screamed and it brought my parents and brothers.  When I got out what happened, my dad and brothers grabbed their shotguns and went after the boy.  They never found him though. 

A week ago my parents told me for my safety and my brothers they were sending us to some prep school called CAP. Our bodyguards would be going with us.  I didn't want to leave, but nothing here would ever be the same again. Not with that boy still around lurking in the shadows.
